It can be a pain and it can keep you up all night when your cat is scratching at a door, namely the back door to the garden. It can be downright infuriating, especially if you have fallen asleep a couple of times.
Obviously, the usual implements spring to mind, soft toys, scratching posts, scratching pad but maybe you are shutting him in one room? How about fitting a cat flap, they wont break the bank. There is usually a good reason for him doing this. with a little investigation the answer will present itself. Have faith and patience.
